The Department of General Services employs Security Officers, who are assigned to the Civic Center and outlying facilities, safeguarding employees and City property. Security Officers monitor complex video surveillance equipment, check in visitors to City facilities, operate personal identification systems, screen visitors to City Hall for weapons, conduct foot and vehicle patrols, issues parking citations, and operates communications equipment.
